Good morning everyone,
Today I look back at the last three months of 2021. Things picked up where they left off in September, but like the outdoor temperatures around these parts of the woods, my numbers went down with the temperature. Let's break things down.
October: Still a big month for numbers. I went on a big adventure on the week of my birthday. After sticking my toe into Saskatchewan for 2 caches, I started to head east and towards home, with the goal of doing two Trans-Canada Highway Adventure Labs, and anything else that I could squeeze in. I was also chipping away at a power trail that runs northeast of Winnipeg.
(First time setting foot in Saskatchewan since 2015)
I finished October with 108 finds. Sixty nine of those were traditional, thirty ALs, six mystery, a multi, letterbox, and a CITO each. I also filled in each day on my day found calendar with a minimum 11 finds.
November: My numbers dropped from October, but I did start the month on a good clip. I don't recall any adventures other than chipping away at that same power trail until the snow came. I haven't been back that way since. That would be around November 11th when we got hit with a big dumping of snow. I was working on my day found calendar, but I hit a wall with that. With the changing of the clocks, I had maybe one hour of daylight to work with when I get off work. Some of that hour was chewed up from driving to the other end of the city to find what I needed. This was insane and I decided that this quest was getting more stressful and less fun. I put a stop to that, leaving four days near the end of the month not filled in.
My numbers for November: sixty four caches found, 40 traditional, thirteen ALs, nine mystery and two events. A drop of fourty finds, or one big geocaching adventure like I did in October.
December: My third lowest month for finds overall, followed by January and February. Since I'm no longer trying to fill in my day found calendar, I just sat back and took it easy. My big day was on Christmas. With nothing else to do or anywhere to go, I hit up the downtown area for some random Adventure Labs. Parking was plentiful and muggles were few.
(December saw me do something I haven't really done in a awhile. Hide geocaches. That's one of two I hid that day. More to come)
In total, I found twenty ALs, four traditionals (one was an FTF, my first for December), and attended an event and a community celebration event. Twenty six finds in total. For the three months, that adds up to 197 caches found.
That's the look back at the last three months of 2021. Next week, I look at 2021 as a whole. I will have at least one announcement as well. What will it be? Tune in next week. Until then, be happy, stay safe, hug your pets, and most importantly, just have fun. Peace out ✌
There's always just one more picture. I've had a chance to do more geocaching in December, but I opted to go to Bird's Hill Park for a walk on one of many trails and feed the chickadees.
