Good morning everyone. An update on what the daily streakers are up to during the pandemic. Three of the top five Canadians are still active with Carnigrewal leading the way with 3,588 days. Only seven of the top twenty one Canadian daily streakers are still active and all are over 2,000 days. Across the border is a different picture. Only seven of the top thirty daily streakers are no longer active. DrJay is currently at 4,837 days, tops in the U.S.
It's that time of month again. I never know which day a cache crate will show up in my mailbox, so it's always a surprise when I do find one inside. Normally I take a picture of the box inside the mailbox, but there's only so many different ways you can do that. This month there is no picture due to the fact my phone was at 1% battery when I got home after spending time after work capturing Munzees and raiding Pokemon gyms. The first thing I noticed when I pulled it out of the mailbox was that this cache crate was heavier than previous cache crates. Then I remembered the e-mail I got from Lookout Lisa in regards to this months cache crate. I had sort of an advance tip as to what was inside.

What's inside.... Will get you outside! However, what's inside is also a surprise. Even though I had a tip, I still don't know the exact contents of the box. Needless to say, I had a surprise waiting for me when I opened the lid to the box.
As you can see, it's the second edition of 201 Geocaches to Find Before You Die, U.S. version, by Geocache Talk podcast host Gary Slinkard. I was not expecting this. Hopefully, when it's safe to travel again, I'll be able to find some of the caches listed in the book. Looks like I'll be flipping back and forth between my current book "Just Between You and Me" a Myles Goodwyn memoir (lead vocalist and guitar player for Canadian Band April Wine), and this new geocaching book.
Next out of the box is a deck of cards. I'm old school, so I like to have a deck of cards to play solitaire once in awhile. You always need a deck of cards to play crib as well. I use to know how to play lots of card games when I was younger.
This next item I knew about. It's a DIY birdhouse. Some of the crates were shipped without the bill of lading or packing slip, so Lisa had sent out an e-mail. There is more to this which we'll get back to in a second.
A stuck at home Bingo card. Some of the things to check off on the card include finishing the book that came in the crate, watch a YouTube vlogger (I've been catching Cache Canada's live open mic shows on Saturdays, plus Cache the Line's videos), post to your local FB group (I don't belong to anything local, I wonder if The Geocaching Guild FB page would count?) and get a good night's sleep (I wish).
Back to the DIY birdhouse. As you can see, there's a contest to go along with the construction of the house. I have two weeks to assemble and decorate. What will I do? I'm not very creative when it comes to this stuff. I don't have paint, so I may have to resort to stickers. That should look tacky. LOL.
That's what came in this month's cache crate. Things to do while stuck at home. I'm not stuck at home. I'm an essential worker and I've been going to work every day during this pandemic. I can always do this when I get home. Something to do to take me away from my day. That's all for this week. Hopefully I'll have an adventure to talk about next week. I did go do an Adventure Lab cache last weekend. Hopefully there's enough there to write about. Until then, be happy, be safe, keep your distance from others, don't go the wrong way down the grocery aisle, and most importantly, wash your hands. Peace out.
Checking out her favorite spot in the sunroom while she was home briefly.
