It's time to announce the winner of the April photo contest and reveal the theme for May. The April theme was to take a picture of picking up some litter/trash. There were three submissions for this month. Let's take a look at the entries.
First up is Stonagal. Along with another former Manitoba alumni, did a roadside CITO together and came up with a couple of bags of garbage.
Next up is MWDL who collected a bag of empty beer cans that they found along a trail. And the last entry is from Jangie. She went out with the younger members of team Jangie and came back with a wagon full of garbage.
Good job to all the entrants and to anyone else who did some cleaning/CITO during the month.
The prize packages for this month are the following: prize package #1: trackable button, star trek themed pathtag, fridge magnet, and a pathtag donated by U dac.
Prize package #2: copper plated trackable medal that says "the only bugs I like are Travel Bugs", and a pathtag donated by U dac.
Prize package #3: a gold plated trackable medal that says the same thing as #2, and a pathtag donated by U dac.
Prize package #4: While I was unpacking my geocaching stuff last week, I discovered I had multiple identical trackable coins from Cache Canada. I got one for being a Patreon subscriber to Cache Canada, and I won the other from a Cache Canada contest. I'm offering up one of them as a prize. It is unactivated. A pathtag from U dac is also included with this prize package.
Jangie!! Congrats to Angie and the rest of her team. I'll be in touch to get the mailing particulars and your prize selection.
The theme for May. I didn't come up with this until the other day when I was driving home. There is a poem titled 'April Showers Bring May Flowers'. I think it would only be appropriate that the May theme should be about flowers. Submit a picture of flowers or anything else that blooms (leaves bloom too) to thegeocachingguild@gmail.com or send a message on Twitter to @thegeocachingg1.
That's all for this week. Until next time, where will geocaching take you? I just borrowed that line from Cache Canada. LOL. Be happy, stay safe, wash your hands, wear a mask and get vaccinated, hug your furry critters, and most importantly, just have fun. Peace out.
Searching for a very tricky hide. We eventually did find it with the assistance from the owners.
