Geocaching and some Random Stuff

Good morning everyone.  This week we stop in Maryland.  The geocache with the most favorite points is 'A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words'  GC5DN6X.  Placed in May, 2015, it has been found 859 times and has 500 favorite points.  The first geocache placed was 'Assateague Island'  GC56.  Placed in September, 2000, it was never found and archived in 2002.  The oldest active geocache is 'Jusef's Cache'  GC1FD.  Placed in February, 2001, it has been found 1,406 times and has 370 favorite points. This isn't the blog I was eluding to last week.  There's been a slight change of plans.  All that is connected to my moving.  Yes, I do have a new place, but the apartment needs a little TLC before I can move in.  The apartment won't be ready until after Easter.  The blog I had intended to do will have to wait a bit.  The last two times I moved, I had one blog dedicated to sunrises and sunsets.  The other time was showcasing water towers that I came across i

Geocaching and the First Day of Spring

Good morning everyone.  Today we stop in Virginia.  The most favorite cache is another WVTim & WVGrammy hide.  'Hi-tech'  GC2WCA2 was hidden in May, 2011.  It has 1,874 found logs and 659 favorite points.  The oldest active cache is 'Burke Lake Park'  GC175.  Hidden in December, 2000, it has 3,129 logged finds and 407 favorite points. This weekend marks the changing of the seasons.  It is Spring.  For us in the Northern Hemisphere, that means the weather will get warmer, nicer.  We'll be more eager to get out and find geocaches, plus find more of them in an outing.   I'm no different in that regard, but first, I need to get past the next few weeks as I search for a new place to live.  Fingers crossed that something comes up this coming week.  Today (Saturday) I took an opportunity to grab a couple of geocaches and do an Adventure Lab on my way home from the store.  My route took me down a stretch of road just North of Winnipeg.  River Road.  This is a popul

Geocaching and Pathtags

Good morning everyone.  It's off to West Virginia as we make our way up the East side of the States.  The most favorite cache is 'Evolution of the Rest Stop!'  GC33NAZ.  The owner is WVTim & WVGrammy.  Being on social media, I have heard how WVTim's caches are very creative, so no surprise that he owns the most favorite cache in West Virginia.  This particular cache was hidden on September 7, 2011.  It has 3,518 logged finds and 1,515 favorite points so far.  It is also part of the Berkley Gadgets GeoTour GT96, the most favorited GeoTour in the world. The first geocache in West Virginia was 'Loudoun Heights Cache'  GC88.  Placed in October, 2000, it was found 11 times (not counting the 12th as it was logged 18 years after it was archived) before being confiscated by the NPS (national park services?) in May, 2001.  The oldest active cache is 'Rich Creek Riches'  GC3F0.  Hidden on February 25, 2001, this cache has been found 270 times and has 130 favo

Geocaching and the Leap Day AL

Good morning everyone.  Not many States and Provinces left to showcase the oldest and most favorite geocaches.  Today we stop in the State that's round on the ends and high in the middle.  Ohio.  Most favorite cache is 'Shawnee Lookout Cache'  GC31A.  Hidden in February, 2001, it has been found 3,053 times and has 1,025 favorite points.  The oldest geocache is 'Boston Runs  GC73.  Hidden in October, 2000, it was found 24 times before the park rangers removed the container.  It was archived in June, 2001.  The oldest active geocache is 'Ancient Lake'  GC2DBE.  Hidden in January, 2001, this oldie has been found 1,755 times and has 556 favorite points. For those have been following along, they've probably saw me make reference to an Adventure Lab that I did on Leap Day, February 29th, 2020.  It was part of a nine cache type day for myself.  Project-gc doesn't recognize that particular part of my day and only credits me with eight cache types.  Today, I go
